Dr. James Klein received his undergraduate degree from Hope College in Holland, Michigan. He is a graduate of the University of Illinois College of Medicine. His residency was completed at the University of Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary in 1975. After completing his ophthalmology residency, he continued his education with a fellowship in neuro-ophthalmology at the prestigious Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida.
As a Major in the United States Air Force, he served as Chief of Clinical Ophthalmology at the School of Aerospace Medicine and as a consultant to the Air Force and the Army. He is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and holds privileges at St. John Hospital, Detroit and Beaumont Hospital, Grosse Pointe.
